We all grew up reading stories. Almost every Indian knows about 'Panchtantra' by Vishnu Sharma. They came in series of books and each story contained a moral. So many other authors experimented with these children oriented moral stories. But if we look carefully at these stories they contain an element that is too violent in its nature. Like being eaten by a lion on lying or being killed by your own master on saving there son from snake. These are sheer tragedies losing your wooden axe for axe of gold or breaking yourself(earthen pot) because you are friends with someone stronger or of better financial status than yours. What are they doing creating inequality in society. How can a dumb Lion in the story of The Lion and Rabbit can rule a jungle?
These stories have there morals written at the bottom, maybe because sometimes it become difficult to guess why the characters in the story are acting so weird. Are these stories completely relevant in today's world? Aren't these fictional characters holding them back? For instance the story of climbing spider. It teaches you to try again and again. What if you are going the wrong way. The spider knows that it built its web there so its reachable for it. What if you are not meant for that job. What if a human tries to change his lungs into gills by staying in water.
No doubt the relevancy of the stories are questionable hence we can enjoy them till we get or own experiences that can question them. After all there are flaws in all stories. But that doesn't make them irrelevant or boring. these stories have been enjoyed and should be. Moreover happy ending stories with morals were the expertise of 'Chacha Choudhary' comic book.
